On the 13th of February 2023, ELONGATE successfully transitioned to EG v2, marked by one of the smoothest launches in the DeFi ecosystem. This upgrade encompassed critical protocol enhancements, token consolidation, as well as transparent supply reduction. To facilitate this transition, the EG Team developed a dedicated migration tool, ensuring a trustless and secure transfer of tokens, which can be accessed at https://egtoken.io/migrate.
It’s worth noting that ELONGATE version 1 tokens were also integrated with a staking mechanism, leading to a substantial number of tokens being locked in staking. Users were encouraged to unstake their tokens without incurring any penalties and migrate them to EG version 2.
Both of these essential tools, namely, the Migrate and Unstaking functions, have remained available to users since the migration took effect on the 13th of February 2023.
We are now instituting a deadline for the unstaking and migration processes, which will conclude on the 13th of February 2024. This provides users with an ample one-year window to utilize our complimentary migration tool for transferring their previous ELONGATE tokens to EG.
EG Team has tried its best to highlight the need for unstaking and migrating tokens. There have been social media posts on all channels throughout the year while the website has an announcement displayed continuously since 13th February 2023 as well.
It is imperative to emphasize that tokens not unstaked or migrated by the stipulated deadline will be irretrievably lost.
