In this post, we will look at all the exciting events of May 2024.

This integration allows us to add many more supported tokens to our platform, ensuring low rates and deeper liquidity for our users. ChangeNow is a well-known and respected name in DeFi and this integration opens more avenues of getting volume into the EG Ecosystem.

EGSwap Integrates with SwapSpace

We are excited to announce the new partnership with SwapSpace, a crypto exchange aggregator. This collaboration aims to enhance users’ experience with DeFi by leveraging the strengths of both projects. A press release was also circulated and EGSwap was listed as a partner on SwapSpace website, with its dedicated page – https://swapspace.co/partners/egswap

EGSpectre Volume Crosses $1Million milestone

May 2024 saw the first whole Bitcoin being bought on EGSpectre. Says a lot about the tech and the trust we have built up in this space for decentralised swaps (This was not an anonymous swap so happy to share the details with key identification erased).

Working on improving the performance, scalability and response times of our systems.

Now that most of our products are in frequent use, it’s time to make sure we are ready for the times when volumes being put through our system and visitors coming to our websites will increase significantly. Over the next 2 months, we will be focusing on several initiatives to increase the performance of our platform and make it secure against external attacks.

This will include:

Optimising Images
Improving mobile behaviour and writing mobile-first code.
Limiting the number of HTTP Requests
Improve our cloud-based web monitoring
Increasing Browser HTTP caching
Removing unnecessary render-blocking JavaScript
Load JavaScript Asynchronously
Limiting the use of external scripts
Reduce the number of plugins used
Minify CSS and JavaScript files
Changing hosting providers to ensure we get the best servers hosting our services
Cybersecurity – Focus on protecting ourselves from DDoS attacks, malicious bots and other similar attacks that can degrade our performance or bring our systems down.

This is a large undertaking but one that is already proving very useful. See below

EG services stay up during a coordinated attack on our platform

In May, our platforms were subjected to several malicious attacks aimed at disrupting our systems. The most significant of these incidents involved over 11 million hits to our websites and APIs within an hour.

To put this in perspective, the volume of traffic was equivalent to twice Uniswap’s monthly traffic being directed towards EG in just one hour, and our systems remained fully operational. This impressive performance highlights the robustness and resilience of our technology in withstanding such attacks.
