The Deploy StarShip team recently launched the alpha version of their DeFi play-to-earn game StarShip, bringing fun and engaging earning potential to GameFi and sci-fi fans alike. Now, the ELONGATE space station in StarShip has launched into orbit. This space station will allow players to give their ships a home and launch missions, but with a unique twist compared to other in-game stations.
Players of this new sci-fi space exploration game are launched into a vast universe. Each player begins with a fleet of ships that must be kitted out with NFT-based components of various rarities. Players must mine the valuable resource $KYANITE scattered on planets around their home space station to earn a profit. Ships are sent on missions to mine the planets’ resources at varying distances. A better-equipped ship will allow for more extended missions and, as a result, more significant rewards.
In addition to mining, there are a few ways to earn passive income in the StarShip universe. One way is to claim planets, represented by NFTs, that will earn the owner 5% of all profits mined by other players on the planet. Because individual NFTs represent them, the planets are tradable. The other way to earn passive income is through staking the NFT-based ship components in space stations. Players can choose from various stations to host their fleet, launch missions, and stake their NFTs for passive earnings. This is where the unique ‘play-to-donate’ aspect of Elongate’s Space Station comes in.
Typically, every successful mission launched from a space station will provide the owner with a small percentage of $KYANITE from the player’s missions, but the Elongate space station has a special purpose. Elongate will donate all of the revenue from their space station to EB Research Partnership (EBRP). If you’re unfamiliar with EBRP, they are a long-term partner of Elongate working to cure a rare genetic disease that affects children worldwide.
