Alexander Gambon from ELONGATE sat down with Kevin Longino, Anthony Tuggle, and Angelica Hale, representing the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). They discussed kidney disease, the people it affects, and the impact of Elongate’s $150,000 donation. This contribution will fund awareness about kidney disease and increase access to care, treatment, guidance, and support programs globally in the most at-risk communities.
The NKF is the largest kidney disease advocacy and prevention organization. They provide a lifeline for people suffering from kidney disease and provide the tools, guidance, and support for those affected by kidney disease. In addition, they’re pioneering science and innovation that improves the lives of transplant donors, recipients, and those on the waiting list.
Unfortunately, 1 in 3 adults is at risk of kidney disease, a leading cause of death in the U.S., with over 100,000 people are waiting for kidney transplants. On average, the waiting period for a transplant can be between 3 to 7 years and is a difficult period for those waiting for a second chance at life.
