ELONGATE Delivers Aid to Orphans of Nepal

Recently, Nepal has faced many socioeconomic issues. Natural disasters such as torrential downpours and landslides have contributed to the ongoing epidemic of homelessness the country is experiencing. To further add to Nepal’s challenges, the COVID-19 pandemic has left much of its population under further distress. Nepal is home to about 3 million homeless people. They are in dire need of assistance. Elongate Holders in the region called the Social Impact Team from Elongate to action.

The team quickly established a plan to assist; they delivered food packages and clothes to the people who needed them most. In addition to this, they provided food, medicine, and medical supplies.

Their Social Impact team visited an orphanage that is home for several Aids positive children. This orphanage was hit hard due to COVID-19 and ran short of operating funds. The Elongate team stepped in to assist their staff and provide the children with food and clothing.

On the streets of Banepa, Kathmandu, they identified and helped those struggling to find and pay for food. Many of the homeless reside outside the grounds of local Temples after being displaced from the landslides. When the team visited a local Temple, a line quickly formed. It was apparent how much help they needed. However, their team was ready to help and handed out food packages.

On the streets of Basantapur, many children have turned to selling bottles of water to provide for their families. Their team provided these children with food, clothing and free water bottles to assist them in providing relief for their families.
