ELONGATE announces the founding of the #CryptoForCures Fund, and EB Research is their first partner. During the stream, Alexander Gambon joined Michael Hund and Michelle Hall from EB Research to discuss its mission and goals.
Through the new #CryptoForCures fund Elongate donated $150,000 to EB Research. The funds donated will research cures for the rare disease Epidermolysis Bullosa, which affects over half a million people worldwide, most of which are children.
EB Research is the largest global organization dedicated to funding research to cure epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a disease with no known cures. They aim to cure EB by 2030. After developing the cure for epidermolysis bullosa (EB), they will invest their time and funding in research to cure other rare diseases.
The disease most noticeably affects the skin, which causes it to become very fragile and causes blistering while preventing wounds from healing. Internal organ tissue is also damaged. Due to low life expectancy, EB disproportionately affects young children.
