Furthering their commitment to global good through their first initiative to provide aid to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine, ELONGATE has partnered with the international charity organization Caritas (Moldova Branch) to lend assistance to the families affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Thousands of victims of this conflict have sought refuge in Moldova and other bordering countries.
Elongate staff and volunteers delivered the aid to the Caritas team so they can continue the distribution of goods to those who need it the most, as tens of thousands of refugees are crossing the border into Moldova seeking help.
Once these refugees cross the border into Moldova, they are given temporary shelter before being given permanent shelter in the country. The majority of refugees are separated women and children, as their husbands and fathers stayed to serve the country.
Many of these families have arrived with nothing more than the clothes that they are wearing. This aid is crucial for giving stabilization to these families that have left everything behind and have nothing now.
Elongate, with the help of Caritas, has provided the necessities for living in their temporary shelters. The aid consists of imperishable food, water, toys, coloring books, diapers, toilet paper, blankets, pillows and other personal care products. In an event that has shaken the world, the team at Elongate will continue to find ways to provide direct aid that affirms the dignity of all persons.
Update 03/15/2022:
The Elongate team provided a second round of support for Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter in Moldova. Staff and volunteers from Elongate assisted in setting up a new shelter for displaced peoples, providing basic necessities for the families that will soon call these shelters their temporary home.
EG continues bringing humanitarian aid to displaced Ukrainians during these challenging times.
